The Greatest Illusion
The greatest illusion that most of the people posses is that they think they are going to live in this world forever. People never feel that they are mortal. Only when their strength starts to decrease, they begin to realize that may be they are mortal.
Is He a Muslim?
A friend of mine asked me a question. If a person having a muslim name do not perform the following basic actions of Islam, should he be called muslim?
- Declaration of Faith
- Performing Salat five times a day
- Paying Zakat
- Fasting in the month of Ramadan
- Performing Hajj at least once in his life if he has the ability
I could not answer him. But to me, it would not be fare to call that person muslim.
What is your source of knowledge?
To me this is a very serious question and all of us need to ponder on this. Are you believing something as true blindly? Is the person or institute or organization, whom we have put our trust in, really worthy of our trust? What is their purpose? What do they want? We need to think.
Let us be cautious
Muslims, Be very very very careful about Bid'a, the newly invented matters in Islam. Before doing something, be sure that you have enough knowledge of it and you are doing it according to the teachings of Muhammad, peace be upon him.
Some verses of the Qur'an and some Hadiths have been misunderstood by many people and this ignorance has been spread along the globe. We need to be very careful. Also there are many fabricated and false hadiths circulated among the people. We should always verify whatever we get by studying the original source. "I did not know" cannot be an excuse especially in this time. Let us always pray to Allah to guide us to the straight path. Let us remember Allah and Fear Allah in every matter of life and love Allah and for Allah love others.

About me
I, A.K.M. Mahfuzul Islam, am from Bangladesh. I am known as Mahfuz. Presently, I am doing my undergraduate course in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Kyoto University in Japan. My family lives in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I have two brothers and a sister. I am the eldest one. Usually, I listen to the Qur'an a lot everyday and watch the lecture videos of various Islamic Scholars at YouTubeIslam, YouTube, IslamicTube, WatchIslam and other sites. I like to gain knowledge.
